1963 - 2026
In Loving Memory
Kelli Marie Newton, born May 2, 1963, in Salt Lake City, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kelli brought light and energy wherever she went. She was truly the life of the party, full of laughter, warmth, and a spirit that made everyone feel welcome. She loved deeply and lived fully.
Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. She loved them more than anything and never missed a chance to show up for them, cheering at her granddaughter’s dance performances and proudly attending her grandson’s soccer games. She cherished every moment she got to be their biggest fan.
Kelli also had a special love for her dogs, country concerts, camping trips, and traveling to Mexico with her husband, Merrill. She was happiest with her toes in the sand, a cocktail in hand, soaking up the sun beside the love of her life. She and Merrill also enjoyed spending time together at their favorite local spot, The Bongo. Whether she was outdoors, listening to music, or gathered with family and friends, Kelli treasured the simple moments spent with the people she loved most.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, Merrill; her two children, Mario and Jenna (Lonnie); her two beloved grandchildren, Izais and Eliana; and her sisters. Her love, strength, and vibrant spirit will live on through all of them.
Family and friends are invited to join us on Saturday, February 28, from 12:00–1:00 p.m., as we share memories and celebrate Kelli’s life, with an open house and light refreshments to follow from 1:00–3:00 p.m.
