At Inspired Funeral Home, simple cremation is $650 plus the $157 Utah State cremation permit — $807 all in, before certified copies of the death certificate. The Salt Lake County average for the same service is about $1,455. Cremation with a memorial service or a traditional funeral followed by cremation ($2,195) costs more because of the service itself.
Our traditional funeral service is $1,895 without a viewing, or $2,195 with embalming and a two-hour weekday visitation. A graveside service is $1,795, or $1,995 with a visitation. Casket, cemetery fees and a vault are separate and we show you those prices before you choose. The county average for a traditional funeral is about $6,203.
Utah requires a cremation permit from the state medical examiner before any cremation. The fee is set by the state, not by us, and it is the only mandatory add-on to our $650 simple cremation.
