1947 - 2026

In Loving Memory

Jeanie Olsen passed away in her Avenues home in Salt Lake City on February 1, 2026. She was born on September 13, 1947, to Norma Archer Olsen and Lloyd Olsen.

Jeanie and her brother, Jeff, grew up on 10th Avenue. She attended Ensign Elementary School, Bryant Junior High School, and East High School. She later earned a degree in Child Development and Family Relations from the University of Utah.

Jeanie lost her mother at the tender age of 13 and her older brother, Jeff, when she was 18. She shared a very close relationship with her father and her maternal grandmother, Verna Weber, with whom she lived for several years.

A devoted cat lover, Jeanie provided many cats with a safe and loving home. She worked for many years with the League of Utah Cities and Towns, as well as in other administrative roles.

Jeanie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tender-hearted, quiet, and private, she chose to serve others behind the scenes and out of the spotlight. She served six years as a name extraction missionary.

Though Jeanie experienced much loss in her life, she patiently endured her trials and was a wonderful example to her friends, who adore her and miss her deeply.

The family wishes to thank the many neighbors who befriended and tirelessly ministered to Jeanie over the past forty years. You truly are angels.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother. A simple funeral service will be held at the family grave plot in the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20.

We will be entering in Salt Lake City Cemetery off of 11th Ave with the west gate (920 E.) Once in the cemetery, head south onto 940 E. to 460 N. turn left (east) the graveside will be there on the right hand side.
