What a graveside service at Inspired includes
A graveside service takes place entirely at the cemetery. Family and friends gather at the grave, a clergy member, celebrant or family member speaks, and the casket is lowered or committed. It is shorter than a chapel funeral, usually 20 to 40 minutes, and it is the right choice for many families who want a dignified goodbye without a full church or chapel service.
At Inspired Funeral Home a graveside service without a viewing is $1,795. That includes the basic services of our funeral director and staff, preparing and filing the death certificate and notifying Social Security, the transfer from the place of death, refrigeration, additional preparation, the hearse and service utility vehicle, and the graveside service itself. With a two-hour weekday visitation and embalming beforehand the package is $1,995. The casket, the cemetery’s fees for the plot and opening and closing, and any vault the cemetery requires are separate and quoted before you sign.
We coordinate graveside services at every cemetery in the valley: Salt Lake City Cemetery, a few blocks from our Avenues location, Mount Olivet, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Larkin Sunset Lawn, Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Redwood Memorial Estates, Elysian Burial Gardens in Millcreek, and the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park in Bluffdale, where an eligible veteran’s plot, opening and closing, and headstone are provided at no cost.
For veterans we arrange military honors at the grave: an honor guard, the folding and presentation of the flag, and Taps. We request the honors, obtain the burial flag and file the VA paperwork. Bring the DD-214 if you can find it; if not, we can request a copy.
