Ben Lorris Humphrey 81, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away in his home October 14, 2024, where he had courageously fought complications of cancer for the last couple of years.

Ben was born January 20, 1943 in Logan, Utah; a son of Irma Hyde and Joseph Stanley Humphrey. The family lived in Hyde Park, Utah before moving to Bountiful, Utah, where Ben spent his youth-graduating from Bountiful High School in 1961.

He enlisted in the Army National Guard of Utah, receiving his training at Fort Hood, Texas. He honorably served his country for 20 years and enjoyed his service. After retiring, he also enjoyed working as a crossing guard for the Salt Lake City school district.

Ben is survived by two sisters: Sherrie Wolfram, Georgetown, California And JaNae Olsen, Murray, Utah; One brother, Earl, Humphrey, Las Vegas, Nevada, and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, one sister: Teresa and one younger brother: Charles (Chuck).

For the last 18 years, he resided at the County High Rise in Sugar House, where he was a member, and attended the Temple View Branch, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He formed many special friendships during this time. Our deepest appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all who assisted in his care during these years.

Graveside services will be held Monday, November 4, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park, 17111 South 1700 West, Bluffdale, UT 84065
