Ida Marie Petric

Ida Marie Petric was born on December 14, 1946, in Allentown, Pennsylvania and passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026 surrounded by family. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and treasured member of her extended family, Ida leaves behind a life filled with relationships and memories that will continue to be held close by those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Paukovitz and Ida Hilda Paukovitz.

One of the special joys in Ida’s life was the time she spent with her love and spouse, Joseph “Butch” Ruth. Together, Ida and Butch loved going to karaoke, sharing evenings filled with music, laughter, and simply enjoying being together. Those nights became part of the many wonderful memories they created as a couple.

Ida was a loving mother to Dennis Sommer and Kristin Kooring and stepmother to John Ruth, Del Ruth, Kevin Ruth, and Lorina Ruth. Her family circle also included her bonus family, Paula Nunley and Jesse Haynes, who held a meaningful place in her life.

Being a grandmother was another cherished part of Ida’s life. She was the proud grandmother of Dakota John Fontain, Damian William Fontain, and Coleman Drew Kooring, as well as a bonus grandmother to Amanda and Jessica.

Those who loved Ida will remember not only the milestones of her life, but also the everyday moments that made her who she was—the laughter shared with family, time spent with the people closest to her, and evenings of music and karaoke alongside Butch.

While her passing leaves an emptiness for those who knew and loved her, Ida remains present in the memories and stories her family will continue to share. A familiar song may bring back an evening together, a family gathering may spark a favorite memory, and the love she gave will continue through her children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends.

Ida will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered, with her memory carried forward in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
