1974 - 2026
In Loving Memory
Julio Sundown Rangel loved life. Whether it was dinner with friends, a football game at home, or traveling with family, he was happiest when he could share those moments with the people he loved.
Julio was born on October 28, 1974, in Sanger, California. He was only 51 years old when he passed away on Friday, May 29, 2026. From the beginning, Julio fought hard against cancer. He refused to give up hope, and he was smiling and hugging his loved ones right to the end.
Julio brought warmth and laughter everywhere he went. His love for people extended to his work at the local hospital, where he supported the care of countless patients behind the scenes. He had a deep love for sports, a curious mind for trivia, an appreciation for comedy, a legendary love of good food, and a genuine desire to make others feel welcome. His heart was always open.
His life was forever changed on July 5, 2010, when he married Gabby; he found the person with whom he would share his dreams, challenges, and happiest moments. He cherished her and her children, Natalie and Ray. Together, they shared many fun and memorable adventures as a family.
His life changed again on July 24, 2022, when he was baptized. For years, he had happily supported Gabby and the children in all they did in serving Jehovah. At the same time, he was thoughtful and took the time to carefully examine the truths found in the Bible. Once he became convinced that he had found the truth, he gladly joined them in their service to Jehovah, much to their delight.
One Bible truth that touched him deeply was the promise that he would one day be able to hold his beloved daughter, Sierra Rose, once again. Sierra passed away on May 31, 2006, just two weeks after she was born. Julio kept her memory close to his heart and eagerly looked forward to her resurrection. He truly loved his family dearly.
Julio is survived by his wife, Gabriela Rangel; his stepson, Ray Mosquera, and wife, Jayda; his stepdaughter, Natalie Rodriguez, and husband, Endy; his parents, Rosalinda and Julio Rangel; his brother, Chris Rangel, and wife, Nancy; his sister, Sunshine Rangel; his nieces and nephews, Julius, Lydia, Autumn, Lexi, Christopher, Cheyenne, and Ty; and his father- and mother-in-law, Ray and Martha Luna. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Juan Rangel, whom he missed dearly after his passing in 2023.
Julio lived life to the fullest, and he will be deeply missed. We eagerly look forward to the day when we will see our dear friend again.
