Luciana Eunice “Twinkle” LeeJune 26, 1946 – September 11, 2026

Luciana Eunice Lee, affectionately known as “Twinkle,” passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by her loving family. She had been receiving care at IHC in Murray, Utah, since September 7.

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on June 26, 1946, to Louise Mueller and Joseph Mahelona, Luciana was adopted at birth by Elizabeth Mahelona and Edward Gomes. Her Hawaiian heritage remained a cherished part of her life, and she found great joy in sharing her knowledge and culture with others.

A beloved mother, grandmother—lovingly called Tutu and Granny—and great-grandmother, Luciana held her family close to her heart. She also dedicated many years of service to the Tracy Unified School District, beginning in the early 1980s and continuing until her retirement in 2007.

Luciana had a beautiful artistic spirit. She especially loved designing and creating personalized cards, each one a thoughtful expression of her love. Through these handmade keepsakes, she shared a little of herself with the people who mattered to her.

Luciana is survived by her brother, Edward Kaululaau Gomes; her son, Reston David Kammy Lee Jr. (Kawika), and his wife, Yvette; her daughter, Rhonda Leina'ala Enoka, and her husband, Malae; and her daughter, Moana Naomi Lee Castro, and her wife, Shantel.

Her memory will be cherished by her six grandsons: Steven Lee, Kimo Lee, Leso'olelei Sa'aga, Iokepa Sa'aga, Kepualipaa Lee, and Salapu Taavao; and her four granddaughters: Feagaiai Taavao, Hoku Matelski and her husband, Zack, Hana'aloha Lee, and Hau'oli Lee.

She also leaves behind five great-grandsons: Carvin Sirom Jr., Kawika Matelski, Kaimalino Matelski, Zarek Matelski, and Kepukekoa Dayak-Lee; one great-granddaughter, Halolani Matelski; and her beloved French bulldog, Niner.

Luciana was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth Gomes; her biological parents, Joseph and Louise Mahelona; her husband, Reston David Kammy Lee Sr., who passed away on July 27, 2007; her grandson, Kioni Jay Lee; and three brothers and four sisters.

Luciana leaves a legacy of love, creativity, and pride in her Hawaiian roots. Her memory will live on in the family she cherished, the culture she shared, and the heartfelt cards that made her love something others could hold.
