Obituary

Kam Fung (aka Lawrence), age 81, passed away on November 14, 2025, at home due to metastatic prostate cancer. He was born on October 13, 1944, in Hong Kong to Chi Yin Chow and Kwok Cheung Fung. He was espoused to the love of his life, Eileen Chung, in 1968.

Kam joined the Royal Hong Kong Police Force at age 18. He worked his way up the ranks until he became a Senior Superintendent, five ranks below the top rank of Commissioner. He was awarded a Colonial Police Medal from Queen Elizabeth, which was pinned to his uniform by Chris Patton, the last Hong Kong Governor. He and Eileen immigrated to the U.S. in 1994 to reestablish their family before Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997. He loved to eat, spend time with family and friends, and enjoyed watching and betting on horse racing. He would tip everyone with cash if he could, because he was such a generous guy!

Kam is survived by his son, Alwin Fung, his daughter, Camille Fung (Adam Keller, husband), his granddaughter, Lian Keller, and his grandson, Cameron Keller. In 2006, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Chung.

A very special thank you to the compassionate care provided from Legacy Village Sugarhouse, Bristol Hospice, and Home Instead. Also thanks to Joy Savage and Belinda Chan (friends but like sisters to us).

A funeral mass will be held on November 22, 2025, with Inspired Funeral Home located within the Historic City View Mortuary from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. followed by a light meal and gathering to celebrate his life.
